These 200 grain bullets are made specifically for reloading .38-55 cartridges for shooting in a 0.378” groove diameter firearm.  My easy-to-use slugging kit will tell you exactly what your groove diameter is. A perfect fitting bullet will lead to the best possible results from antique, vintage, and modern rifles alike.

These are component bullets used to reload cartridges for rifles chambered for a nominal .38 caliber cartridge; this is not loaded ammunition.  These are newly manufactured, hand-made, semi-jacketed, soft point bullets with a 0.200" meplat (flat nose) that are perfect for tubular magazines of all lever action rifles.

You choose the number of bullets per box to fit your budget and shooting needs.

You can now buy these bullets with various amounts of skiving added to the ogive (curvature) of the bullet nose. Skives are precision scored fracture lines scribed into the ogive to promote expansion at lower velocities. Skives are added only to the copper jacket from the nose to the shank of the bullet. I do not skive the shank of the bullet as this would promote propellant gas leakage in the rifling contact area. Skives can be 25%, 50%, 75% or even 100% of the ogive.  In the picture of the jackets, from L to R: None, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% skiving on the ogive of the jackets.

You choose whether you want a crimp ring (cannelure) or not too. Generally, if the case neck tension alone maintains bullet position under recoil, there is no need for crimping and its associated cannelure.

In the trio of bullets pictured, the 200 is shown on the far left.  Bullets are made by hand in the USA. Current wait time is less than 3 weeks.
